Chicago Bans Nativity Movie From Christmas Festival
November 30, 2006 – The city of Chicago has banned advertisements for “The Nativity Story” from a local Christmas festival for fear it might offend non-Christians.

Traditional Values Coalition Chairman Rev. Louis P. Sheldon was outraged when he learned of this latest attack on Christmas: “Just when I think political correctness can’t possibly become more ridiculous, along comes Chicago’s leaders to show me there’s no limit to how insane this kind of thinking has become. Will they insist during Ramadan that there be no public discussions of Muhammad? Will they insist that Jewish Menorah’s be removed from public displays to avoid offending Muslims? Are Santa Claus and his tiny reindeer next on the list of banned characters from Christmas? This anti-religious lunacy must stop.”

In a related anti-Christmas story, a Crate and Barrel executive says the company will definitely not have its employees say “Merry Christmas” to customers. According to the company, it has atheist, Jewish, and Muslim customers. Crate and Barrel spokeswoman Betty Kahn: "We would definitely not say Merry Christmas," she said. "It's all about holiday shopping, getting together with friends and family."

“TVC supporters may want to contact Crate and Barrel and tell them why they will not be shopping at their store this Christmas season,” said Rev. Sheldon.

Crescent City Concerns . . .

Tsunami warning system
Crescent City, Calif.,where 11 died in a tsunami in 1964, was hit last week by a wavecaused by a quake off the Russian coast. This time no one died andthere was little damage when a surge estimated at about 5 feet flowedinto the harbor. The earthquake was monitored by the Deep OceanAssessment and Report of Tsunamis, or DART, a system of sensors andbuoys that monitors earthquake and tsunami activity. An alert wasissued last week, but it was canceled more than five hours before thetsunami struck. DART is part of the U.S. contribution to the GlobalEarth Observation System of Systems, designed to give early warning oftsunamis in the Pacific and Caribbean basins. There are 15 suchmonitoring stations operating, with 24 more to be online by mid-2007. >> "...pray for the protection" of California, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia.

Greatest Time for Prayer is in Front of Us!

I believe the greatest time for the prayer ministry is right in front of us. God wants to use us as leaders to mobilize real prayer that will shift the focus of the church off of itself and back to its first love for Him, which will produce His nature and character within His body, which will in turn produce the love for our neighbors that will be tangibly seen and felt and bring forth the true testimony of Jesus Christ. Bottom line God wants to use us to usher in the revival that we have all seen and been working for years to see it come to pass.

It is for such a time as this that we have been called into leadership. God has a plan for the deliverance of our nation and He desires to use us.

The Nativity Story in Theaters Dec 1

There are pre-screenings in 50 major media markets of the exceptional film "The Nativity Story". Wednesday, November 8, in Sacramento, was such a pre-screening to 150 + pastors and ministry leaders from the Sacramento region. Responses ranged from: "Wow! That was really good" to other more critical observations of the film. The host of the pre-screening was Joe Walsh of Capitol Fellowship Foundation, who introduced Emily, representative from Grace Hill Media, the provider of the film for the Sacramento area. A great "Thank You" to Grace Hill Media for the privilege to have it here in Sacramento!

This is a must see film for your community Outreach this Christmas season. As has been said, it truly puts Jesus Christ back in Christmas! And more importantly it gives to local churches and believers a unique opportunity of using this film as a way of communicating the gospel of the "God-Man", Jesus Christ to those who don't know the story.

One viewer explained to a co-worker that she was going to see the movie "The Nativity Story", and the co-worker asked: "what's nativity?" There are so many in the marketplace of life who have no clue about Jesus. May we be new and invigorated communicators of the good news of God's love to mankind this Christmas season!

Proposition 85 - better known as the Parents' Right to Know and Child Protection Initiative.

If passed - Proposition 85 will amend the California constitution to:

• Prohibit abortion for an unemancipated minor until 48 hours after her physician notifies her parent or legal guardian, except in medical emergency or with parental waiver;
• Permit a minor girl to obtain a court order waiving notice based on clear and convincing evidence of her maturity or best interests;
• Mandate various reporting requirements, including reports from physicians regarding abortions performed on minors;
• Authorize monetary damages against physicians for violation;
• Require the minor girl's consent to abortion, with certain exceptions; and
• Permit judicial relief if the minor girl's consent is coerced.

I strongly urge you to vote YES on Proposition 85. Here's why...

In the state of California, a girl - as young as 12 - can be brought by anyone, a boyfriend, school friend, or employee, to a medical facility to receive a secret abortion, without the consent or knowledge of a parent.

This is outrageous.

No young girl should be able to undergo a covert and invasive medical procedure in secret - ever!

If any other type of surgery was going to be performed on a minor child, you can be certain the doctor would require the notification of a parent or guardian - and they would definitely need parental consent.

It should be NO different if the "medical procedure" is an abortion.

Especially when so many things can and have gone wrong during this barbaric procedure.

As a California resident, you have the right to protect the health and well-being of your children.

Proposition 85 will ensure that parents are informed of potential health-related risks and medical decisions involving their children.

Amending California's constitution is not something to be entered into lightly, but you need to consider the alternative if Proposition 85 is not passed.

How this issue is settled will shape the future of our society and the course of constitutional government in the United States.
