UCLA Attempts to Silence Criticism of Radical Professors

Los Angeles, CA—The University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) has threatened legal action against a concerned alumnus who has begun airing complaints about radical professors. The alumnus, Andrew Jones, founder of the Bruin Alumni Association (BAA), is represented by Pacific Justice Institute.

Mr. Jones recently launched www.UCLAProfs.com, a website which documents radical positions taken by UCLA professors, including advocacy of Marxism and anti-Americanism. The website also encourages students to submit evidence of professors’ misuse of class time and research activities to pursue political agendas.

No assisted suicide law for California

January 24, 2006, 06:26:58 AM PST

I hope the recent Supreme Court's upholding of Oregon's Death With Dignity Act doesn't inspire Californians to pass the same thing.

What then would assist people with their end-of-life fears? Perhaps doctors (especially in Oregon) need more education and less constraint. When I worked at Doctors Medical Center, patients were evaluated and treated for signs or complaints of pain at regular intervals. A paincontrol specialist advised doctors and RNs daily on the latest and safest medication regimes.

Also, as an education project, I traveled on rounds with a hospice nurse. Her medicated patients were alert, quiet and comfortable, either in care facilities or their own beds. Their families were well-informed and emotionally supported.

Doctors must have the freedom to prescribe enough narcotics or any suitable remedy to control physical or mental pain, without undue second-guessing or intimidation. These actions, along with utilizing educational resources, would help make effective end-of-life care available to all without useless overtreatment.

The biblical instruction "Do not kill" applies not only to others but to ourselves as well. Just as we did not give ourselves life, neither are we permitted to take it away.

Violence is Tearing up Sacramento!!

WWJD . . .

I live in Sacramento, California the city voted the best place to raise a family. I have been aggressively reaching out to city officials to address a crisis existing in Sacramento. I plea for your help. This city is a valley of death. A den of division. Youth of all ethnicity are dying. Sacramento has a 95% conviction rate. We are not lacking arrest, our police do an excellent job at arrest we are lacking prevention.

Death equals arrest is the only solution this city will offer the youth, we do not have prevention. Youth violence/gang violence has been treated on a need to know basis in Sacramento, officials feeling no one needs to know until money is available to enhance their departments, they allow us to remain in a psychological frozen state They allow our lives to be continuously interrupted, yet no prevention. The Judicial Scene Is Set for Confrontation!

WASHINGTON -- As he faced the Senate Judiciary Committee Monday, Judge Samuel Alito began his Supreme Court confirmation hearings with a bit of a deficit.

He's not as naturally charming as Chief Justice John Roberts Jr., who was confirmed in September. And he didn't quite wow senators during his round of private meetings the way Roberts did. Roberts, of course, picked up 22 Democratic votes for his confirmation, a fact that infuriated liberal interest groups and could work to Alito's disadvantage.

Now the message from those activists to Democrats, said Rutgers political scientist Ross Baker, is: "You owe us.'' Read Much More!

Ehud Olmert, acting Prime Minister of Israel, needs Prayer

Due to the health crisis of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, former Mayor of Jerusalem and a friend of the Jerusalem Prayer Team, Ehud Olmert, has become the acting Prime Minister of Israel. Please pray for him.

While mayor of Jerusalem, my dear friend Ehud Olmert flew to Dallas, Texas to speak at the first Jerusalem Prayer Summit. As acting Prime Minister, Ehud desperately needs the prayers and support of the Jerusalem Prayer Team, as does the nation of Israel

As you know, Israel faces crises on several different fronts. Iran looms large on the horizon due to the threats made against Israel by the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. In Ahmadinejad’s opinion, the tiny nation of Israel should be “wiped off the face of the earth.” With his rush to possess nuclear weapon capabilities, Admadinejad could be armed and even more dangerous within the next 12 months. The missiles are ready to launch.

Not only is Israel facing the threat from Iran, but closer to home, there is the threat of 10,000 missiles and 100,000 Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and now, al-Qaeda terrorists next door in Lebanon and the Palestinian Territory.

Please pray today for Prime Minister Sharon, for acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, and for the nation of Israel.

Should I have to go to Israel quickly, I would like to be able to take your words of support and comfort to Mr. Olmert and the nation of Israel. You may send a brief email of support to jpteam@sbcglobal.net.

These are perilous times for Israel and for the world. I did not realize when God called me to a 21-day fast just how important this time would be.

America is asleep. We must launch a national campaign to awaken this nation. It is imperative that I hire a media company to book network shows to get the word out about the crisis with Iran, the threat to Israel and America, and to mobilize millions of prayer warriors (Esthers and Nehemiahs). The simple fact is that one nuclear suitcase bomb in Tel Aviv could kill half a million Jews. Please send your largest gift today to help us launch this campaign.

Mike Evans
