Please read the following brief message carefully. It’s about protecting America ’s Biblical foundation, the source of our liberty and prosperity which God has used to advance the Gospel worldwide. It’s about the “cultural war” being waged against our Biblical foundation, life, marriage, and religious liberty, and what we can do about it. It’s about being effective, not just busy.

Thank you to many who have invested their prayers, encouragement, and support to protect America’s Biblical foundation (the source of our liberty to evangelize) through prayer and work together in 2006!

Please consider the following:

1. America has a Biblical foundation from which our liberty and prosperity (to be used to advance the Gospel worldwide) flow.

2. Our Biblical foundation is under raging attack from enemies foreign and domestic -- we are at war.

3. In this cultural war, the “top-down-policy-activism” approach is not working -- Election 2006 proved this as California and the nation slid backward culturally once again.

4. The Biblical model for “taking the land” requires prayer and work together locally (e.g., Nehemiah rebuilding the wall around Jerusalem ) taking territory from the bottom-up, one piece at a time (Ex. 23:29-30). It’s hard work, but it’s the only way to reclaim the land for Christ. Has any war ever been won without the use of troops on the ground?

Do we love life and liberty more than our opponents love death and tyranny?

If we love life and liberty, then are we willing to take loving action to protect them?

An effective local approach for such a time as this (if not now, when?)

The consistent approach where we pray and work together locally to advance Biblical values and God-honoring leaders who protect America ’s Biblical foundation, life, marriage, and religious liberty is what Public Awareness Ministries is all about. Since 2001, we have equipped people of faith to:

1. Pray together monthly for our leaders (I Tim. 2:1-4, Mt. 18:19, 20, II Chr. 7:14)

2. Equip with and apply Biblical principles of government foundational to America (Dt. 6:6+, Ps. 111:2+)

3. Work together city-by-city to advance Biblical values (Lk. 19:13) and God-honoring leaders (Ex. 18:21). -- This can include non-partisan voter registration and local voter guide production.

HOW CAN YOU HELP NOW AND IN 2007? A call to prayer and action…

--The personal cost of doing this ministry is about 5 minutes a day, on average (about 2.5 hours a month)

--The personal benefit of doing or supporting this ministry is protecting our liberty to evangelize, protecting our liberty to own property and business and use assets for Gospel purposes, and protecting life and marriage (“priceless”).

All future religious, economic, and civil liberty for us and our children depends upon the preservation of America ’s Biblical foundation. May each of us fulfill the Biblical ideas of praying, working, and battling to “reclaim the city” as Nehemiah did long ago. If we reclaim our cities, then our states and nation will follow. Here are some of the results Public Awareness Ministries has achieved in 2006:

· Establishing and supporting ten prayer / work groups in cities across California

· Winning formal approval for Public Awareness Ministries as a 501c3 tax-exempt organization

· Building relationship and dialogue with two key national denominational leaders

· Producing and distributing two local voter guides for Sacramento County (surveying nearly 300 local candidates and delivering nearly 55,000 local voter guides to over 100 churches and organizations) and teaching three other groups how to produce and distribute local voter guides

· Preparing and distributing materials including monthly prayer guides, Biblical principles of government sheets, bulletin inserts, and more

· Serving on the California Capitol National Day of Prayer steering committee and work group
