SACRAMENTO – Even though state legislators are on break in their home districts this month, please don’t take a vacation from involvement in the legislative process. When they return the week of August 7 for the home stretch of the session, legislators will be casting votes on key bills that impact your families.
Scheduled key votes in August include SB 1441 (special rights for homosexuals) and SB 1437, the blatant sexual orientation education bill, on the Assembly floor. SB 1471 (sex-education restrictions) will be heard in the Assembly Appropriations Committee on August 9, and two other major pro-homosexual bills, AB 606 and AB 1056, are in the Senate Appropriations Committee.
Legislator contact information can be found on the CFC Web site. If you don’t know who your legislators are, this government site can help. Remind Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger that thousands of California families are counting on his vetoes to protect parental rights and children! By calling (916) 445-2841, you can sound off to the governor on legislation. Listen for the prompt and follow the directions to quickly express your support or opposition for key bills like SB 1437.
