Bloggers Seek to Mix Faith and the Internet

WASHINGTON — When Johann Gutenberg's printing press began churning out Bibles in the 15th century, the new technology helped usher in a new era of religion in Europe.

Nearly 600 years later, some think that increasingly popular Web logs — the Internet's version of personal journals, pamphleteering and issue forums all wrapped in one — combined with traditional religious beliefs could once again take people on a new, uncharted course.

n what appears to be a first of its kind, a small evangelical Christian college in Southern California on Thursday will open the God Blog Convention, a conference on Christian blogging.

Matt Anderson, a 23-year-old educator who works for Biola University (search), is coordinating the God Blog Convention. He said one of the goals of the conference is to see whether God, Christian-oriented blogging and politics are a good marriage, and if so, how they should match up. ( READ MORE )

Hearing the Word of God - A Goal Worth Pursuing!

You and I can only imagine what it's like to be the poorest of the poor -- locked away from God's Word, the bible, by the shackles of illiteracy, but for much of the earth's population, this is real life. To those who cannot read, it is as though God has forgotten their country. They long to know that God's Word was also meant for them.

Faith Comes By Hearing International Foundation and Faith Comes By Hearing are hearing the cries of the people and working to bring the life transforming Word of God in all languages of the world.

In obedience to Matthew 28:19-20, our mission is to bring His Church together and make disciples from every nation, tribe, language, and people. We are committed to putting every translation of the Bible in audio form in every church or village around the world, so that all people, especially the 50% of the world who cannot read, can hear God's Word in the language they pray in -- their "heart language".

Education’s Newest Outrage - November 21, 2005

By Assemblyman Ray Haynes
Assemblymember.Haynes@assembly.ca.gov

November 21, 2005

Call me a cynic, but I think the educrats plan it this way. They wait for challenges to pass, like Propositions 74 and 75, and then when they win, they literally spit in the voter’s face. The latest outrage—the effort of these educrats to avoid any accountability for doing their job. By way of background, in 1999, in his first year as Governor, Gray Davis passed a milquetoast education package, intended to improve our schools. He also proposed a high school exit exam, a final test which would determine if the school district had actually done its job—that is—whether the student could actually read the diploma the school was issuing. The Muslim in the Western World: One man, two Missions

Muslims in the Western World

by: Maulana Wahiduddin Khan

At the present time about ten million Muslims live in the western world, including America. These people, who have migrated from their homelands, are generally well off economically. However, when you meet them, you will find that all of them share a common concern, that is, how to save their next generation from the invasion of western culture.

But this is not, in fact, a case of an enemy plot or of a cultural invasion. This is totally in accordance with a law of nature. The law of nature applicable to this world is - one who fails to become a Dayee (Giver) has no option but to become a Mad’u (Receiver). These Muslim settlers in western countries did not make an effort to communicate the message of Islam to their new compatriots, so these nations brought them under their own influence. READ MORE !!

RED FRIDAYS - many people wearing Red every Friday

From: Pastorsnet@aol.com

RED FRIDAYS ----- Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing Red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be called the "silent majority". We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers. We are not organized, boisterous or over-bearing. We get no liberal media coverage on TV, to reflect our message or our opinions.

Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize that the vast majority of America supports our troops. Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday -and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that.. Every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar will wear something red.

By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United States on every Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers. If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family. It will not be long before the USA is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the once "silent" majority is on their side more than ever, certainly more than the media lets on.

The first thing a soldier says when asked "What can we do to make things better for you?" is...We need your support and your prayers. Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example; and wear some thing red every Friday.

WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, ONLY BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED---- SO WEAR RED! --- MAY GOD HELP AMERICA TO BECOME ONE NATION, UNDER GOD.

Thank you from:

"Civilization is hideously fragile," argued C. P. Snow. "There's not much between us and the horrors underneath, just about a coat of varnish." Snow's statement takes on ominous overtones in light of the raging riots in and around Paris.

Exalting God in the Public Square

Exalting God in the Public Square
Paul J. Dean
It seems to me the real question is not whether or not we engage the culture. We must. The real question is how we go about it. What is to be our emphasis: political action or gospel influence in the political arena?

California Nanny Patrol

By JONATHAN FREEDMAN

Voice Guest Columnist

America's borders are out of control. Every year, 500,000 new undocumented aliens come to California. The cost to California taxpayers is billions of dollars for food stamps and other un-reimbursed services. The economic benefit of hiring cheap, exploitable labor is a bonanza for California agribusiness, and a boon to families. But the human cost of maintaining a system of American apartheid is incalculable. READ MORE
